This camp is open to 8 - 11 year old children who love to sing, dance and act
Camp Activities
Singing, Creative Dance, Campfires, Tennis, Story telling, Drama, Swimming, Creative Arts, Painting, Ceramics, Horse Riding, Bushwalking, Musical Theatre & Games
A full program of performing and creative arts activities from MONDAY to THURSDAY culminating in a picnic and concert for parents and children on Thursday at 6pm.
The camp will be run by Julie Blanchard & her team of artists, musicians, actors & teachers
To be held at
250 Tugalong Road, Canyonleigh 2577, Southern Highlands
The cost is $445 per person
Includes: 4 nights accommodation, all meals & all activities
Creative Arts Team
Julie Blanchard - Singing and Percussion
Julie is a qualified primary school teacher and a music specialist for children 2- 12 years old. She worked as an entertainer for many years, sharing her original songs with large audiences of “singing and dancing” children. (www.juliesongs.com) Julie has spent her life infusing a love of music and singing into kids and adults alike. She has an infectious energy and very positive teaching style. Julie has been working with choirs for over 30 years and absolutely loves inspiring children to sing from their heart!
Cindy Pryma - Creative Dance and Drama
Cindy holds a Bachelor of Education specializing in Drama, is an accredited Theatre Sports instructor and has attained a Certificate III in Drama Therapy. Cindy has attended professional development courses at NIDA in Devising Theatre, Play building, and Creative Movement.
Cindy has taught drama to people of all age groups including primary school, high school from year 7 to HSC, young adult theatre sports and adult professional development. Cindy has enjoyed facilitating groups for over 15 years.
Jenny Stewart - Painting, Ceramics and Mixed Media
Under the tutorship of her father, Jenny started drawing before she went to school and by the age of 20 had her first solo exhibition at the Sydney University Graduates Club.
In the mid 90’s Jenny studied under Vicki Dabro at the Canberra School of Art and later won the Walker Student Prize for Ceramics. Jenny has had experience in drawing/painting, fibre and ceramic sculpture and feels that each facet compliments the other extremely well.
Mandy Bransgrove - Drama and Storytelling
From the ripe old age of three, Mandy has been involved with the performing arts. She competed in poetry eisteddfods, acted in musical socieities, recorded commercials for both TV and radio and acted in a 10 episode series for the ABC. She progressed to professional theatre and cabaret and joined a Theatre In Education Company performing the title role in The Little Prince, and later was accredited to teach storytelling in schools all over Sydney. Now, Mandy lives in the Southern Highlands and loves nothing more than participating in the local theatre group and working with youth theatre.
Chenier Moore - Drama and Musical Theatre
Chen has been working with Drama in the Southern Highlands for several years and is currently completing his HSC year at Oxley College in Bowral. He has been involved with many shows through the Southern Highlands Youth Arts Council (SHYAC) and Oxley College itself, including Macbeth 2008, Cabaret 2007, The Silver Sword 2006 and Footloose in 2004. In addition to this, Chen has worked extensively as an assistant director at The Highlands School of Performing Arts (THSPA) for productions and classes through 2004-2007. He has also had extensive work with children from 9 to 16 through both THSPA and SHYAC.
Monique Bastin - Dance and Musical Theatre
Monique has been dancing since the age of six and has performed in musical theatre since the age of ten.
She currently works as a dance teacher in the Southern Highlands and performs in musical theatre in Sydney.
Monique graduated from Brent Street Studios in 2006 with Certificate IV in Performing Arts. She has starred in Chevalier College’s production of “In Your Dreams” as Cobweb and in “The Hobbitt” as the Narrator and the choreographer. Her first major role was as Rusty in SHYAC’s production of “Footloose” and since then has performed in the Australian premiere of “Aida” and in “Singing in the Rain” with Rockdale Musical Society.
